Museo Marítimo del Cantábrico.

Volunteer work of the “Museo Marítimo del Cantábrico”

The work is divided into two parts, the first is done in the aquarium and the second part in the ground floor.


Aquarium:

1.- In the aquarium you must take photographs (they are allowed but without flash as it stresses the animals), say the name in English that appears in the explanatory screens of the following and write if they are vertebrates and invertebrates:


2.- The following are located in the last 4 ponds or "tanks". (You must only take a photo of these ones and it does not need the name in English).

Ground floor:

3.- We find a giant squid (peludín). Answer the following questions:

Ø  Where did they find it?

Ø  How long is it?

Ø  How long are its tentacles?

Ø  How many times is the giant squid heavier than you? (Write the accounts you have calculated)

 4.- Here there is a huge skeleton corresponding to a Common Rorcual, answer the following questions:

When and where did they find it?

Ø  When was the skeleton mounted?

Ø  How long and tall is it?

Ø  How much does it weigh?

Ø  What does the whale use the beards for?

Ø  How many times are you taller than the measure of the rorcual long? (Write the accounts you have done)

 5.- There is a sardine with 2 heads, take a photo of it and write when was it captured.

  In one of the exhibitors of this floor there is a viperfish, take a picture of it and write what characteristic attracts you the most attention of this fish.

  In another of the exhibitors there are 4 turtles, name them and explain how you could differentiate them.

  NOTE: The work must be sent by the platform or in a pendrive, in a Word document with the deadline on 6th May.
